Marsh-cinquefoil is common in northern swamps, marshes, wet meadows, and sedge peatlands. It grows in muck or on sedge peat. It spreads from a rhizome and the plants lean on surrounding vegetation. Attractive leaves (with 5 to 7 leaflets) and flowers. Can be planted with cattails and bulrushes.
